Astragalus Root Tea

Astragalus (also called milk vetch) is a small shrub belonging to the pea family that grows in temperate climates of the northern hemisphere. For centuries Chinese herbalists have procured astragalus as a valuable herbal ingredient, especially for making herbal tea to promote longevity and strengthen the body. When astragalus root is dried and powdered, it creates a cloudy, pale brew with a warm, sweet and mild sharp flavour, making it a stimulating herbal tea.

Astragalus root is naturally rich in various minerals including calcium, potassium, iron, zinc and selenium. This tea also provides flavonoids, amino acids, phytosterol and essential fatty acids and is a natural source of antioxidants. Astragalus is believed to stimulate the immune system and be a strong adaptogen. Recent research has indicated that astragalus may protect the telomeres from degradation. Shortened telomeres are linked to aging and cancer.

This mild tea is best enjoyed on its own or with a hint of lemon or honey. Each unbleached tea bag is individually wrapped and contains 100% organic astragalus root. NET WT: 27g
