Our chaga products do not contain any grain or myceliated grain (grain spawn)
Our premium wild chaga (inonotus obliquus) has been sustainably and exclusively harvested from the remote, harsh and untouched wilderness of northern Canada. Its constant struggle to survive and thrive in these harsh conditions ensures our chaga is of the highest quality and potency. This chaga only comes from living birch trees in old growth forests. After being harvested, it is slowly dried without heat to preserve all the nutrients. These nutrients have been absorbed from the host birch tree into a naturally concentrated form which can then be released by hot water extraction into a tea.
The chaga mushroom has been used as a folk medicine for centuries in Northern Europe and Russia. Chaga is a natural source of B vitamins and its mineral content includes copper, potassium, manganese, iron, zinc, calcium and selenium. Chaga is known to provide a variety of antioxidants and it is also one of the world's richest sources of pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), which is an essential nutrient needed by the adrenal glands and digestive organs. Medical research on the health benefits of chaga has shown that it positively affects the immune system.
When preparing the tea we recommend to rinse 20g of chaga, then gently simmer on low heat in 1 litre of water for 1-4 hours. You can adjust this ratio and time based on the strength required. Use a stainless steel or ceramic pot (not aluminium) and keep covered during preparation. The intriguing dark tonic brewed from chaga chunks has a smoky sweet flavour and can be enjoyed with a hint of honey or added to smoothies or other drinks. The tea and used chaga chunks can be kept in a refrigerator for a few days. The chunks can be reused up to three more times with simmering for around half an hour. You can make approximately 15 litres of a very potent tea with a packet of our chaga chunks. NET WT: 90g
This unique and intriguing loose tea is only made from North American wild harvested finely ground-up pieces of chaga (inonotus obliquus) mushrooms (100%). These potent mushrooms are found almost exclusively in birch forests, where they thrive in spite of the harsh natural conditions. This effort to survive is exactly what makes the chaga mushroom so valuable, infusing it with the vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and other nutrients that occur naturally in the birch bark. It has an exceptionally high level of antioxidants, often cited as being the most potent source of antioxidants on this planet.
With a rich, earthy taste and an inviting aroma, a potent cup of chaga tea is an excellent offering for those looking for a healthy caffeine-free alternative. While drinking chaga from a tea bag does offer many of this tea's positive traits, there are benefits to steeping it. The improved water circulation allows the chaga to create a stronger infusion, thus providing a deeper taste and more of its benefits. Since chaga tea can take some time to infuse all of its nutrients, multiple steeps can be beneficial and make it an excellent option for a loose tea. To increase the potency of the chaga loose tea we recommend to gently simmer the brew in a pot for around 15 minutes (can be adjusted depending on the preferred strength). NET WT: 50g
